HELLO

My new blogging buddy Susan (Suzarte) started a new challenge called Just Keep on Creating and I thought it would be fun to enter. The rules are easy, make what you like and ENTER!

Isn't this badge the cutest?

JkoC adv button

Here is my funny card that I made with my kids. THIS IS CALLED MULTI-TASKING AT IT'S FINEST!

Whe I see the word HELLO, I think of my favorite singer Lionel Richie and his famous song from the 80's Hello...(is it me you're looking for). Remember the video? He fell in love with the blind woman while making clay statues? I could sing every one of his songs and I have no shame in saying that either!!!

With that being said, this card is going to be entered in CAS-ual Fridays Challenge where the focus this week is to make a card based on a song.

CAS-UAL FRIDAYS IS LOOKING FOR A NEW DESIGN TEAM MEMBER. I would like to now serenade them with my song..."HELLO, IS IT ME YOU'RE LOOKING FOR???" hehe...

Bye!

Runway Inspired Challenge #8

There is only one challenge site that I haven't missed a single challenge for since starting my blog...

I was trying to mimic the lace top the model was wearing on the background. Hope you can see it. I was also inspired by one of my favorite card makers, Mariana Grigsby. Not only does she make beautiful cards, but they are  also fun, detailed, and colorful.

Runway Inspired Challenge did it again! Check out this photo:

This challenge brought out some really eye catching cards. The design team really outdid themselves again this week too. Check them out here. You will also see my winning card from the last challenge! YEAH ME!

The model looked Japanese to me so I pulled out my sweet Japanese Doll stamp set by Hero Arts. I am going to try to refrain from entering a million cards for the challenge this time, though it's hard to resist!

Thanks for Stopping by,

Wida

ColourQ #129

Good morning!

You know, I really need to work on the colourQ challenges earlier in the week. I always seem to get inspired on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings and cut the deadline so close! I just want the card to be QUEEN worthy ;)

For the challenge I wanted to include flowers because of the inspiration photo, but not just any flower. A special technique and using my favorite flower set: 5th Avenue Floral from Stampin' Up. I tried watercolor but didn't like the results. Might try it again because I don't have the right supplies for that trick. So, in browsing the internet for ideas, I found this website showing how to color on velum.

I could not photograph this card to capture it's real beauty. I hope that you can see the velum with the transparency, the embossed background and well...the hard work!

And the yummie color palate from ColourQ:

Thank you for stopping by,

Moxi Fab Tuesday Trigger: Simple Elegance

Time to take a crack at some Moxi Fab-u-lousness with a super cool color palate in a home my kids would never be allowed in!

My card took inspiration from the colors, the textures, and the crisp feel of the room (sounds a bit BEACHORADO doesn't it?). I wish I had an urn stamp but the best I could do was a bird cage! PS. The photo looks better when you click on it :)

Supplies: embossing folder is candy cane from Sizzix, the stamp is Stampin Up

Embellish Color Trends Challenge: Rosettes

I have been making cards...honest.

It's hard to decide which challenge to enter because they are all so good. However, this last week I haven't had any designs pop in my head, so that's why the silence for the last few days. UNTIL NOW!

Recently, Embellish Magazine said my card was HOT! Now I knew I was warm for sure, but definitely not HOT. So when their new inspiring photo came out, I knew I had to play again. Thank you for making me feel like a "high roller" Embellish Magazine!  See the card here.

 "L is for LOVELY"

I really like those monogrammed cards so I thought I would try it. To me the photo had a funky vintage vibe, so that's what I was trying to evoke in my card as well.

Here is their inspirational photo and color scheme:

Virginia's View #3

Let it be known that if you have a challenge with a rainbow, I will find it and enter...probably multiple times. hehe.

I ordered the Up Up and Away stamp set from PTI with the matching hot air balloon die and thought, I don't need those stinkin' cloud dies, I will just cut them. It seems simple enough. WRONG! going to have to get those for sure!!

I am IN LOVE with:

1. rainbows
2. the newsprint skyline stamp by HERO ARTS.

Colour-Q #128

 My THIRD and FINAL submission:

I would have never put these colors together and I think that is why I love this challenge so much. They make my cards look good! I struggle with color sometimes...and stamping...and design...and...

This says "thank you teacher"  on the inside.

ColourQ #128:

Ok that's it! Promise no more entries for this challenge,

1. A Pattern
2.  An Image

I wasn't sure if pattern meant repeating pattern or patterned images, or just a pattern paper. so I hope I did it right!

Blog notions

So I have had this blog all this time with WORD VERIFICATION ON and I just now discovered it, thanks to my new blog buddy Laura. And do you want to know why she is my new blog buddy? Because she told me! Just as a friend should tell you when you have lettuce stuck in your teeth, bloggers should tell you when you have that pesky word verification on and don't know it!

I think it was Cas-ual Friday Blog challenge who kept saying "turn off word verification" and the whole time I am thinking, "well, that's not me. I hope those poor bloggers get that figured out." DUH.

thank you Laura.

So let those great comments come on in without any road block.

Also, my mother-in-law, who happens to be a SILENT follower on my blog, hint hint Nancy, informed me this morning that I sounded a big needy on my post earlier today. SO I am going to try to be more positive. I actually thought I was being funny, oh well. Hard to get humor without the tone I guess.

And lastly, my bunny card post from earlier today was also done in collaboration with my friend Marcy. I don't want her not to get credit for cutting up the eggs and helping me make the card awesome! thank you friend, I know you would tell me about lettuce in my teeth! hehe..

Well, anyhoo, so this doesn't sound like a rambling post, I will include a scrapbook page.

This is my oldest daughter Sophia at 6months, age 5, and self portrait. She is 8 1/2 now and still a mini-me.

Bye,

Word Verification Free and proud!

Embellish Spring Color Challenge

tap. tap. tap.

IS THIS BLOG ON?

Feels like lately no one is interested in cards made by yours truly. But the show must go on even when all you hear in the audience is crickets!

I am entering a challenge with some high rollin' bloggers. The entries and design team are really really phenomenal. I have absolutely no chance of winning and I TOTALLY accept that. I just wanted a chance to play with them.

A spring card for your viewing pleasure...all 3 of you. and probably one of you is sick with the flu which seems to be picking up momentum lately at work. so that leaves 2 of you. thanks for stopping by. hehe...

Sometimes I just crack myself up!!

Supplies: Hero Arts (like the whole stamp set!)

Embellish Magazine's inspiration:

My 2 year old daughter, Anya, says this card is "lovely"...so it's a winner to me!

Stay healthy,

ADDICTED

Hi.

My name is Wida and I am ADDICTED to card challenges.

Is it normal to start a blog and then want to win every challenge out there and become totally consumed with entering all of them, some of them multiple times??

Ok, don't tell me if it's not.

I am hoping this pendulum will swing back to center soon!

Here we go again, the photos on Runway Inspired Challenge and CAS-ual Fridays just get my mind going with card creations!

Supplies: stamp Hero Arts, PTI. Stampin Up Heart punch

The Play Date Cafe #122

I love these colors together and I just had to play even though it cost me some sleep time. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Here is my crazy card. I wanted to focus all the art on the left side of the card. I just kept adding more and more elements. I am trying to get out of my comfort zone a bit.

Supplies: stamp October Afternoon, PTI, washi tape, paper My Minds Eye, glossy accents.

And the inspiration board from the Play Date Cafe:

1 Card 2 Challenges

Ahhh, another RIC card you say? Sort of, this one is going to another challenge as well.

Supplies: stamp Hero Arts Newspaper skyline stamp, Lawn Fawn.

CFC43Making a sentimental card in a clean and simple way. CHECK!

I wish I could find a stamp that says HELLO FROM ALL OF US, cuz that that what I was trying to say. Sadly I didn't have one, so a bow went instead.

And the stellar runway photo that started me on a roll again, and I am not subconsciously mentioning that fat roll prize I lost last week on RIC...yes I am.

More to come tomorrow!

Runway Inspired Challenge #7: Submission 2

I worked out the kinks (see previous post for details) and here is my second attempt to win RIC. I was sad to see that fat roll go, but I have to keep moving forward with my attempts at card success. It was just not my day to shine! LOL!

On a side note, I found my Denami baby card on PINTEREST. Some sweet soul thought my card (which lost by the way) and blog was PINTEREST worthy. That discovery made losing 5 challenges in a row a little less painful. I'm really not keeping track...yes I am.

isn't it weird how light can effect a card? These pics are of the same card, yet they look totally different. I couldn't decide, so you get the pleasure of seeing both!

Check out RIC

It might as well be CARD/FASHION WEEK here on my blog, because I have much more to share using this inspirational photo, see you tomorrow!

Runway Inspired Challenge #7

For my birthday our dear Miss Anna, who watches my kids while I am out saving lives and stamping out disease ;), gave me a beautiful scarf. This beautiful scarf was inside a beautiful bag and along with it came a beautiful card. All these things I had planned on loving, cherishing, and keeping forever.

Until I saw RIC this week.

Look at the bag, look at the card. Look at the bag. Look at my scissors.

I tried not to, I scoped all my stuff, but I couldn't help it. It seemed like the perfect fit.

Here is what is left of the bag. I had to take the pic flat cuz I already dissected it for the card(s) and it could no longer stand poor thing.

I had so much fun that I just kept making card after card. This is not in my usual style, but I went with it. The outfit had an elegance to it, but somehow also looked a bit like the circus??? Also I felt like dressing it up a bit since the lady had a necklace on.

Here we go:

This is the only card in this COLLECTION I am entering for the challenge.  That sounds very runway doesn't it?

I am going  to give Miss Anna the cards as a token of my appreciation. And I hope it will lessen the blow on cutting up her pretty bag. I probably will make more cards for this challenge. Had one in mind and can't seem to get the execution right. Be back once I figure out the kinks!

Later, I hope
